Griswold Home Care of Greensboro / Burlington is a Home Care Agency licensed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to provide for the home care needs of individuals and families in Guilford, Alamance, Rockingham, Randolph, Davidson, and Orange counties.
We do not take lightly the privilege of providing services within your home or the home of your loved one. For your peace of mind, our office thoroughly screens all caregivers including a criminal background check, drug screening, references, and a personal interview. Our Griswold Home Care team is committed to providing compassionate live-in care and hourly care, offering 24/7 accessibility, responding promptly to your questions and concerns, and striving to do all this with excellence.
We are actively involved with the Jean Griswold Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) private foundation established in 2010, which provides grants to select community programs that help people age in place. In 2019, we presented a $500 grant to Senior Resources of Guilford to further its services, which include nutrition programs, caregiver assistance, and its Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program. Senior Resources of Guilford provides a wide variety of independent living programs and resources to low-income seniors who can’t afford them on their own.
What is Home Care?
Defining Non-Medical Home Care Services
Non-medical home care is designed to help people with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, meal preparation and more so that they can continue to live in the comfort of their home. In short, non-medical home care is when a professional helps with things you would normally do for your loved one or yourself. Professional caretakers can assist with tasks like laundry, light housekeeping, hygiene, incidental transportation and more so that you can focus on being a family member rather than a caregiver or remove the stress from not being able to care for yourself.
Home care can include both professional 3rd party companies and informal support networks such as family, neighbors, and friends. These individuals work together to meet the needs of yourself or your family. Non-medical home care means that caregivers do not handle skilled care like administering shots or tending to wounds.
Non-medical home care services generally include:
- Homemaking care
- Companion care
- Personal care
- Respite care
- Hospice care
- Live-in/ Overnight care
- Incidental transportation
Griswold Home Care offices support families by referring professional caregivers for personal care, homemaking, and companionship services. We have nearly 40 years of experience and are one of the pioneers in the non-medical home care industry. Our company was built on the timeless values of compassion and care – and these ideals are always at the heart of all that we do.
