Haywood Lodge & Retirement Center is an assisted living and retirement community offering a variety of care and service options. Located on a quiet street just two blocks from downtown Waynesville, NC, our residents enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of a friendly mountain community as well as convenient shopping and nearby professional services.

Our mission is to provide the highest standard of care possible for our residents while maintaining a high quality of life, independence and self-esteem. Our dedicated staff works closely with outside health professionals to meet the specific needs of each resident.

The residents at Haywood Lodge enjoy a wide variety of programs to stimulate them both mentally and physically. We have a 73″ HD television with surround sound to enhance the enjoyment of movies and games.

Activities offered at the center include:

Our full-service barber and beauty salons are available to our residents three days per week. Whether a shampoo and set, a perm or a simple haircut, a licensed beautician is available to make our residents look and feel their very best.

There are two full-service, well-appointed dining rooms offering our residents three meals per day. In addition to our regular menu items, The Lodge dining room has a seasonal soup, salad and fruit bar.

All menus at our facility have been developed and approved by a registered dietician. This is to ensure the highest quality of food with regard to specific nutritional requirements and regulatory compliance. We offer many options making sure each resident has an enjoyable and fulfilling dining experience.

The Lodge is a licensed assisted living complex designed to meet the individual needs of its residents in a caring, home-like atmosphere. Whether sitting and chatting in the courtyard patio, enjoying a hearty breakfast in our grand dining room or relaxing in a whirlpool tub, a gracious independent lifestyle is what our residents enjoy.

Type of Rooms

The Lodge

The Lodge has two styles of well-appointed luxury apartments to choose from (studio or suite) that offer individual climate control, full baths, TV, refrigerator and microwave.

The offerings of The Lodge include:

24-hour supervision and assistance
Three meals daily (including homemade soups and salads)
Scheduled activities from a certified activity coordinator
Daily housekeeping/laundry services
Local transportation
Full-service beauty salon
Promotion of independence and self-esteem in a comfortable living environment

The Lodge residents enjoy a wide variety of professionally planned meals in a private dining area beautifully decorated to provide a memorable dining experience every day.

Maples

The Maples is our newest wing of private upscale rooms. Each resident receives the same care and services offered in the Retirement Center with a private setting no matter your level of independence. These units are well-appointed with such amenities as in-room climate controls, private baths with heated floors and large walk-in showers.

This wing is directly adjacent to the Retirement Center and is only a short walk to our newly designed Life Enrichment Lounge. The lounge offers surround sound and a 73″ HD television for movies and gaming. This area is complete, right down to the old-fashioned popcorn machine.

Residents in all of our units enjoy a wide variety of amenities for their enjoyment and well-being.

The Retirement Center

The Retirement Center offers an affordable alternative to nursing home placement in a more relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.

The Retirement Center is a licensed adult care home designed for those individuals requiring more extensive assistance with health care and/or activities of daily living. Our dedicated staff is trained to meet the specific needs of each resident in coordination with all outside health professionals. Diet, exercise and drug management are followed closely for each resident.

The Retirement Center offers:

24-hour supervision and assistance
Three meals per day with snacks
Scheduled activities from a certified activity coordinator
Daily housekeeping/laundry services
Local transportation
Full-service beauty salon

Haywood Villa

Haywood Villa residents are provided with all meals, weekly housekeeping service, laundry and linen service, utilities and a monitored Emergency Call System. Cable and telephone are not included but are available. Haywood Villa is available as an unfurnished unit. Residents in our Haywood Villa independent living unit have full access to our spa room and beauty salon.

Haywood Villa residents enjoy access to the dining room at Haywood Lodge. Here they can enjoy a wide variety of professionally planned meals in a private dining area beautifully decorated to provide a memorable dining experience every day.
