Emeritus at Cy Fair Here at Emeritus at Cy Fair, we cater to the needs of all seniors, offering three different types of communities: independent, assisted living and memory care. This gives our residents the convenience of being able to “age in place.” Our one-story, 10-unit independent community, which is located in a separate building, includes both studio and one-bedroom apartments, each with a full kitchen. Rent includes weekly housekeeping; three meals a day, seven days a week; activities and outings; and ample parking. The community also has three common areas: a living room/lobby area; a sitting area with television and couches; and a laundry facility. Residents come and go as they please, but are always welcome to take full advantage of the amenities and activities available in our Assisted Living community. Our assisted living community offers 70 senior apartments in three studio and one one-bedroom styles. These include the Cypress Suite, a 275-square-foot studio; the 285-square-foot Cypress Suite with kitchenette; and the 335-square-foot Magnolia Suite, with ample room for two beds, a sitting area and two closets – the perfect option for couples. All of our studios include a private bathroom with walk-in shower. In addition, we offer the 575-square-foot one-bedroom Alcove Suite, with two full bathrooms, a spacious living area and kitchenette. The Alcove Suite is ideal for residents “downsizing” from a three- or four-bedroom home and accustomed to living in a larger space. Our one-story assisted living community also provide many common areas: an ice cream parlor; library/sitting area, where fresh coffee and snacks are served; the Dogwood Room, the largest of our activities rooms, where we hold our exercise program, show movies on our large-screen TV and where residents enjoy playing the piano; and our main dining room. We also have a smaller activities room, with an indoor garden, and a third activities room called the Blue Bonnet Room, which has a pool table and is often the location for our popular bingo games. A private dining room is available for residents to reserve for special occasions. They can bring in their own food, or we can cater it for them; families are charged just $5 a meal. We also have an onsite beauty salon, open five days a week. Outside, we have a large patio with a gazebo and many bird feeders – the ideal spot for our many ice cream socials and cookouts. Our memory care community, a fully secured area within the same building as our Assisted Living community, offers both styles of the Cypress Suite studios. Keypad security and an inner entrance provide a safe, secure neighborhood in which residents are able to move around freely without being able to wander outside unsupervised. Memory care residents also have their own private gazebo and garden area, with the interior apartments looking out onto the courtyard. The larger Cypress Suite is available as a Friendship Suite, in which two residents share accommodations. Many families prefer this option, as it enables their loved one to bond more readily with one individual, helping prevent isolation and depression. Our Memory Care Director is responsible for pairing residents. Because she knows each resident so well, she is able to match roommates with great success.
